LESSON CONTRACT
Responsibilities of the student
- Students shall notify the instructor at least 24 hour in advance to cancel a lesson by calling (208) 739-6004.
- The student will arrive on time to all scheduled lessons. Lessons will end at their scheduled time, regardless of the time of the student’s arrival.
- Any lesson that is missed by the student will not be rescheduled, nor will tuition be reimbursed. The lesson is forfeited. (With the exception of COVID related issues)
- Student's will be prepared for every lesson. All repertoire will be brought, and the student will know the material assigned them in the previous week.
- Student will frequently access and update their student portal for rehearsal purposes.
- Student will conduct themselves with kindness and respect when interacting with their teacher and peers. Any student who is being disrespectful to any member of the VAS will be subject to loosing their position within the VAS. This includes, but is not limited to, bullying inside or outside of the studio, bad mouthing teachers or other members of the studio, or inappropriate behavior inside or outside of the studio. We hold our students to a high level of behavior and expect them to represent our studio with pride, purpose, and performance.
- Tuition for lessons must be paid at the first lesson of every month.
- If the student does not follow any of the above, they may be subject to probation or dismissal at the discretion of Victoria Arrriero.
Responsibilities of the instructor
- If the instructor has to cancel a pre-paid lesson for any reason, and that lesson cannot be rescheduled, the tuition will be applied toward a future lesson.
- The instructor will begin lessons at their scheduled time, or the instructor shall extend the lesson to meet the required lesson time.
- The instructor will, during the scheduled lesson time, make rehearsal tracks of melody lines and/or accompaniments (when possible).
- The instructor will be prepared for each lesson.
- The instructor will treat each student with respect.
What to expect from your lesson
- 5 minutes: discuss progress and identify problems arising from previous week of practice.
- 10 minutes: warm-ups and exercises.
- 10 minutes: repertoire (may be replaced with further exercise if necessary).
- 5 minutes: identify goals and objectives for upcoming week.
What to bring to your lesson
- Bottled water
- Pencil with eraser
- Any required sheet music or scripts
What to do between lessons
- Practice; divide your time equally between warm-ups and working on your repertoire. (At least 30 minutes, three times a week).
Building Agreement
- Lessons and recitals will be held at the Snake River Heritage Center. Anytime the Snake River Heritage Center is in use by the Victoria Arriero-Thomas Studio, the students and parents agree to treat the building with respect.
- No food is allowed into the building and trash will not be left on the grounds.
- All parents and students must stay on the lower level (unless otherwise instructed) and may not wander the halls. All artifacts must not be touched.
- During lessons, parents may not be in the building.
- All children must be supervised at all times. Students must stay in their car until their class starts. Children may NOT be dropped off early and left, or picked up late. The doors will remained locked until their scheduled class time and they will not be supervised until their scheduled class time.
- Students may not play of the concrete structures such as the stairs, flagpole, or The Snake River Heritage sign. Students may not play on the sides or back of the building.
- If an accident occurs on the Snake River Heritage Center grounds, The Snake River Heritage Center is not in any way liable or responsible for any injuries or expenses incurred, nor is Victoria Arriero.
Parents or others present during lessons
- Due to COVID-19, all parents, with the exception of our preschool class, must remain outside of the building during lessons. No visitors or friends may enter during a lesson.
